About Arquitect Filipa Sá
Who will make you stay a little longer.
Filipa Rubina Pontes de Sá, a native of Madeira Island, was raised amidst the endless ocean and the rugged landscapes that shaped her early years. However, Filipa felt a calling to transcend the limitations of island life and set her sights on broader horizons. This pivotal moment led her to make the bold decision to leave her island home behind and venture to the bustling city of Lisbon on the Portugal mainland.
In Lisbon, Filipa embarked on a journey of academic and professional growth, enrolling at the prestigious University of Architecture and Arts in Lusiada Lisbon. Here, she honed her skills and passion for architecture, ultimately earning both her degree and master's in Architecture. Armed with a solid foundation of knowledge and a thirst for innovation, Filipa set out to make her mark on the world of design.
Upon completing her studies, Filipa was handpicked to join the esteemed interior design studio of Nini Andrade Silva. Over the course of seven transformative years, she immersed herself in a diverse array of projects spanning the realms of hospitality, retail, residential, and commercial, both in interior design and architcture and with a intrisic genious on concept and identity development of spaces and its uses.
Filipa's talent and dedication did not go unnoticed, as she swiftly rose to the position of head architect, leading the way on numerous high-profile international ventures.
The turning point in Filipa's career came in the year 2023 when she made the bold decision to harness her accumulated knowledge and boundless creativity by founding her own interior architecture and design studio. Thus, Late Check Out Studio was born, a space where Filipa's vision and expertise converge to create environments that evoke a sense of lingering comfort and allure.
Through her work, Filipa aims to inspire a desire in people to linger a little longer in the spaces she designs, fostering a deep connection between individuals and their surroundings.
